The journey begins with a conversation. You can call, email, or fill out our online form. We will schedule a time to visit your property or conduct a live video walkthrough. During this consultation, we:

• – Listen to your goals, concerns, and desired timeline.
• – Assess the condition of your walls, ceilings, trim, cabinets, or exterior siding.
• – Note any problem areas like water stains, cracks, peeling paint, or mildew.
• – Discuss color ideas, finishes (matte, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss), and special techniques (color blocking, stripes, murals).
• – Take measurements and photographs to prepare an accurate quote.
• – Answer all your questions about paint brands, prep work, and drying times.By the end of this step, you will have a clear understanding of what is possible and a rough estimate of cost and duration. There is no pressure, no hard sell — just expert advice.

Within 24 to 48 hours after the consultation, we deliver a written estimate. This document breaks down every single cost:

• – Labour: Prep, masking, sanding, caulking, priming, painting, clean-up.
• – Materials: Paint type, primer, caulk, tape, drop cloths, brushes, rollers.
• – Additional items: Wall repairs (small holes or cracks), trim work, cabinet hardware removal/reinstallation.
• – Timeline: Estimated start date, daily schedule, and completion date.
• – Warranty terms: 24-month labour warranty plus manufacturer warranty.

The estimate is fixed-price — no hourly billing, no surprises. Once you approve the estimate, we schedule your project and order all materials.

Preparation typically takes 30% to 50% of the total project time. This is where ordinary painters cut corners — and where Edition Homes Ltd excels. Our preparation includes:

• – Moving and covering furniture: We move large items to the center. We wrap them in plastic. Floors are covered with canvas cloths and ramboard in busy areas.
• – Removing fixtures: We remove outlet covers, switch plates, and curtain rods. For cabinets, we take off doors, drawers, and hinges. All parts are labeled for reassembly.
• – Cleaning surfaces: We clean walls with TSP substitute to remove grease, dust, and cobwebs. For exteriors, we power-wash and scrape loose paint.
• – Repairing imperfections: We fill holes, dents, and cracks with filler. Rough areas are sanded smooth. Edges are feathered. Large holes are patched or replaced.
• – Caulking and sealing: We apply paintable caulk along trim and moldings to seal gaps. For exteriors, we caulk around windows, doors, and siding.
• – Masking and taping: We use high-quality painter’s tape to protect trim, windows, ceilings, and walls. We also cover fixtures and hardware that can’t be removed.
• – Priming: We apply bonding primer to bare or glossy surfaces. For stains, we use a shellac-based primer.

Only after this meticulous prep do we open a single paint can. You will see the difference immediately.

We select the application method based on the surface and desired finish:

• – Rollers: For large, flat walls and ceilings, we use high-density foam or microfiber rollers with extension poles. This ensures even texture and no stippling.
• – Brushes: For trim, corners, edges, and cutting-in, we use Purdy or Wooster brushes with angled bristles. We never use cheap brushes that leave streaks or shed bristles.
• – Sprayers: For cabinets, doors, fences, and exterior siding, we use airless or HVLP sprayers. Spraying creates a factory-smooth, lint-free finish. We mask extensively to protect adjacent surfaces.

We always apply **two full coats** (or more if the color change is dramatic). We follow the paint manufacturer’s recommended drying time between coats — usually 2 to 4 hours for water-based paints, longer for oils. We never rush this step. We also maintain a wet edge to avoid lap marks and overlap lines. For accent walls or patterns, we use laser levels and stencils to ensure perfect geometry.

Throughout the painting process, we maintain a clean, organized workspace. We seal paint cans overnight to prevent skinning, and we never leave brushes soaking in water.

After the final coat has dried (typically 24 hours), we perform a rigorous quality inspection. This is not a quick glance — it is a systematic walkthrough using bright LED lights and natural daylight. We check for:

• – Drips, sags, or runs on vertical surfaces.
• – Thin coverage or holidays (missed spots) where the old color shows through.
• – Uneven texture from improper rolling or spraying.
• – Lint or debris embedded in the paint.
• – Crisp lines where taped edges meet ceilings, trim, or adjacent walls.
• – Paint on hardware, floors, or glass (our masking should have prevented this, but we double-check).
• – Smooth operation of cabinet doors, drawers, and windows (no sticking due to paint buildup).

We correct any imperfection immediately — sanding down drips, applying another coat, or re-cutting edges. We do not consider a room finished until you would proudly photograph it for social media. If you notice something we missed, we fix it on the spot. No arguments, no excuses.

Clean-up is part of the craft. We leave your space cleaner than we found it. Our process includes:

• – Removing all tape, plastic, and drop cloths carefully so wet paint is not disturbed.
• – Vacuuming floors with a HEPA filter vacuum (for dust and debris).
• – Wiping down baseboards, window sills, and countertops with a damp microfiber cloth.
• – Reinstalling outlet covers, switch plates, curtain rods, and cabinet hardware.
• – Moving furniture back to its original position (with felt pads added if requested).
• – Disposing of all paint cans, used rollers, and masking materials responsibly (recycling where possible).

Then we invite you for a **final walkthrough**. We walk room by room, and you point out anything that concerns you. We do not pack up our tools until you sign off on every surface. We also provide a small touch-up kit (a sample jar of paint, a small brush, and a roller) for future nicks or scratches. After you are 100% happy, we send you a digital invoice and a warranty certificate. Finally, we follow up with a phone call or email two weeks later to ensure the paint has cured properly and you remain satisfied.
